Biodynamic CranioSacral Therapy is a light-touch, non-invasive whole body treatment. Years of training enable therapists to intuit and perceive subtle physiological changes, particularly tuning into nervous system function. Therapist support the health of the system, with the belief that inherent health is never lost, and balance can return with gentle touch, stillness and patience, waiting for areas of congestion or restriction to release and reorganize.
These restrictions are caused when the body contracts due to injury or emotionally charged experiences such as shock, fear etc. Stresses, strains, tensions and traumas that are “stored” by the body in this way will restrict the body’s functioning and may give rise to health problems over the years. The problems may be both physical (such as back pain, migraine and digestive disorders) and emotional (such as anxiety and depression).
Biodynamic CranioSacral Therapy is very gentle, making it safe and suitable for people of all ages: from tiny babies to the elderly, and also in fragile or acutely painful conditions. It is often appropriate even where other therapies may be unsafe, such as during pregnancy, after an operation, accident or injury.
As a whole-body therapy, BCST may aid people with almost any condition by increasing their vitality and enabling the body’s own self-healing processes to be activated. For those who are healthy, cranial work provides a wonderful alleviation of stress and an increased sense of relaxation and well being.
Conditions which respond favorably to treatment include: allergies; arthritis; autism; back pain; birth trauma; breathing disorders; cerebral palsy; colic; depression; digestive problems; drug withdrawal; dyslexia; exhaustion; frozen shoulder; headaches and migraine; hormonal imbalances; hyper- and hypo-activity; impotence; infertility; inflammation; insomnia; learning difficulties; menstrual difficulties; muscular aches and sprains; neck pain; nervous disorders; post-surgical trauma; rheumatism; sciatica; sinusitis; spinal curvatures; stroke; TMJ/jaw problems; trigeminal neuralgia; visual disturbances.
CranioSacral work is deeply relaxing to receive and places the body in a state of receptivity to healing within just a few minutes.
